I love christmas. Every year if reminds me how blessed i am to be able to celebrate it openly and having no fear in claiming i love God and i appreciate his gift of His Son Jesus Christ. I love the fact i can give my friends presents without having to find a reason. I try not to let the business of gifts buying to take away the real meaning of christmas, so every year for more than 20 years i plan and cook a christmas eve meal that i can sit down with family and friends and talk and catch up on each others life.......God has so blessed my life with so much, even with every trials and challenge i can feel Him in my life supporting me and leading me. How can i not want to share christmas with others. My final christmas eve menu.....
Appetisers: Cherry tomatoes with dried strawberry
Roast Turkey
Baby back ribs
Crab salad
Spinach Soup
Garlic Bread with fresh mushroom
Spagetti with scallop and grilled prawns
Roast Lamb
Tomato cheese tarlets
Dessert: Fruits & jello with whipped cream (stephanie's request)
The last 2 a contribution from my sister
My wish this christmas is for the lost to understand what christmas is all about and find out that God's love is incredible!

14 days to Christmas
Arrrgh! i have not completed my christmas shopping....i'm not sure what to do; maybe go away so i don't hv to get the pressies ha ha! Yippee tomorrow is a holiday, maybe i can do some shopping for 20 kids; 15 teenagers and 15 families.......mind boggling sometimes. As for the christmas eve menu i'll go with spinach soup (PS: it sounds gross but it rocks) , roast turkey without stuffing; mushroom costini; japanese salad with crab meat; (stephanie says: my moms really good ribs); cheesy mash potatoes and apple pie with ice-cream or whip cream. MY wacky daughter finished one can of whip cream all by herself...must hide the new can from her!!! Now need to discover a totally new recipe to feed my guinea pig hehehe!! Oh yeah, just remember, dried strawberry with cherry tomatoes for appetisers...not bad.

A New Journey
Wow! i can't believe i'm starting my own blog....influence of course by my darling daughter. She helped me get started. I can't imagine what i can say to fill the space but i do love recipes and making comfort food so maybe i'll start from there.
I'm looking foward to preparing my Christmas eve dinner menu. I have been cooking for the christmas eve dinner for more than 20yrs. It's the only full meal that i plan and cook. Choosing the meal to serve gives me a lot of trill because most days i don't haven the time and energy. Christmas Eve is a time where we sit down for a meal with family and old freinds to catch up and to remember how bless we are to have God in our life.
Right back to the menu, i'm looking thro' the the Opray Recipe Cookbook to select the dish i want to serve. i always tell my friends thank you for being my guinea pig for new recipes. I have 100s of recipe books and it's great to be able to try them out.
I'm undecided what to serve as soup; mushroom or spinach or something totally new. Cooking new recipes give me room to express my creativity hopefully with out killing anyone with it.......... .
